Christan Toney has a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Mississippi University for Women and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Ms. Toney served as a speech-language pathologist in public schools during which time she implemented an after school language intervention and provided reading instruction for second grade children as part of a Mississippi Department of Education funded project. In addition, Ms. Toney provided language instruction for all students K-3 in the regular classroom utilizing technology that offered specialized programs in which she constructed for different types of intervention. Presently, she works in the area of augmentative and alternative communication at the T. K. Martin Center for Technology and Disability at Mississippi State University where she provides evaluations and training in the area of augmentative communication to persons with speech/language impairments.
